Prague rings Freedom Bell made from Russian weapons to mark Ukraine's Independence Day

A Freedom Bell, made from bronze and Russian weapons used to attack Ukraine, was rung for the first time in Prague to mark Ukraine's Independence Day.

Details: According to the outlet, the bell was made using a 7 kg artillery shell and fragments of an S-300 missile. It weighs 220 kg and measures 69 cm in diameter.

The words "Stand firm in freedom and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery" are inscribed on the bell in Ukrainian, Czech and Dutch.

The Netherlands was involved in making and consecrating the bell, while it was installed in Czechia. Vasyl Zvarych, Ukraine's Ambassador to Czechia, and Mina Noor, the Netherlands' Ambassador to Czechia, rang the bell. The Ukrainian and Czech national anthems were also performed.

Around 60 people joined the celebrations. During the event, they unfurled a 30-metre Ukrainian flag to mark Independence Day.

The events took place outside the Church of the Most Holy Saviour in central Prague.
