Ukrainian General Staff reports missile strikes on Russian command posts near Donetsk

Ukrainian defence forces struck a number of important Russian military facilities on 26 August and on the night of 26-27 August.

Details: The General Staff did not specify the type of missiles used.

Quote: "Other weapons were used to strike an enemy repair and recovery unit near Chonhar in Kherson Oblast. A UAV ground control station in Olenivka, temporarily occupied Crimea, was also hit.

In addition, [Ukrainian forces] struck clusters of occupiers' personnel near Novopetrivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Voskhod in temporarily occupied Crimea."

Details: The General Staff added that the extent of the damage and Russian military losses are being confirmed.

It also reported the results of a strike on the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, which was carried out on 25 August.

An analysis of additional data confirmed damage to the ELOU-AT crude oil distillation unit, the gas fractionation unit and a section of pipeline.

Background: The General Staff previously confirmed damage to a Russian MiG-29 in Rostov Oblast and reported strikes on a number of other Russian military assets. The strikes were carried out on 24 August and on the night of 24-25 August.
