Russian guided bomb kills lorry driver in Sumy, seven injured

A Russian strike with guided aerial bombs on the city of Sumy has killed a 61-year-old man and injured seven people, four of whom are in hospital.

Quote from Hryhorov: "Sadly, a 61-year-old civilian man has been killed in a guided aerial bomb attack on Sumy.

He was in the cab of a lorry in the Zarichnyi district at the time of the strike."

Details: Hryhorov added that seven people had been injured. Four are in hospital receiving the necessary medical treatment.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that rescue workers were working at several locations simultaneously. The Russian strikes have damaged residential areas and civilian infrastructure, causing fires to break out.

First responders extricated two people from the rubble of a destroyed house.

While rescue and firefighting operations were underway, Russian forces carried out further airstrikes on Sumy, causing new fires.

Ukraine's largest private delivery company Nova Poshta reported that four guided aerial bombs had struck the company's terminal in Sumy.

Background: Russian forces attacked Sumy with eight guided aerial bombs in the evening, striking a residential area, an industrial zone, an infrastructure facility and a vehicle service station, and injuring three people.
