Ukrainian foreign minister to take part in informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Dublin

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will visit the Irish capital in September, where he will meet his European counterparts.

Details: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sybiha plans to visit Dublin on 2 September. An informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers will take place in the Irish capital that day.

Background:

  • Earlier, Andrii Sybiha thanked the foreign ministers of Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands and Spain for their letter to the European Commission regarding the use of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine. He also said he looks forward to the discussions with EU colleagues next week to examine paths forward.
  • The Financial Times previously reported that Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland had prepared a letter to the European Commission calling for work to resume on a mechanism for using frozen Russian sovereign assets to finance Ukraine.
