Russia launches mass production of electronic warfare system designed to jam Starlink – photos

Russia has reportedly begun mass production of the Volna Kupol Garant electronic warfare system, which Russian forces use to jam the Starlink satellite communications system.

Details: According to the Russian side, the system has been put into mass production supposedly because of its effectiveness. The Russians claim that the system uses a radio signal to "blind" the satellite's receiving antennas, affecting the operation of Starlink ground terminals.

Russia has also claimed that it has retained the right to distribute the technology worldwide.

Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, Ukrainian presidential adviser and radio technology expert, reported in mid-June 2026 that the Volna Kupol Garant electronic warfare system is manufactured by Russian company Russkii Kupol in Simferopol. The system creates interference across eight satellite data transmission bands between 14 and 14.5 GHz, each with a bandwidth of 62.5 MHz.

A single system reportedly covers an area of approximately 20 sq km. The Volna Kupol Garant is mounted on six trailers, each equipped with two antennas.

Background: Ukraine's defence forces had already struck a Volna Kupol Garant electronic warfare system. In particular, OSINT analyst Dnipro Osint (Harbuz) published satellite images of a destroyed system at military unit No. 2156 in Gelendzhik, Russia.
