Occupied part of Kherson Oblast remains without power for over a day after drone strikes

The temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast has been completely without power for more than a day following Ukrainian drone strikes on energy infrastructure.

Details: Saldo said that the large-scale blackout has been ongoing since the previous night.

He stressed that several drones struck power substations and damaged equipment.

"I will not give an estimated restoration time in advance. As soon as confirmed information becomes available, I will report it immediately," he concluded.

The strike on the Russians' power system was part of a large-scale operation by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces called Crimean Switch Off.

Brovdi said that between 26 and 28 August, Ukrainian drones struck 21 energy facilities, as well as the Luhansk power plant.

"You [Russian forces] will be sitting without electricity across all the temporarily occupied territories," he said.

According to Brovdi, since 1 July, the Unmanned Systems Forces have attacked 315 energy facilities in Crimea and other occupied territories.

"Get used to blackouts, worms. It turns out two can play this game. Winter will be early and dark. This is for Crimea, too," Magyar wrote.

Background: A major blackout occurred on the night of 27-28 August across temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts. The power cuts followed a drone attack on the Luhansk Thermal Power Plant in the city of Shchastia.
