Warehouses burn in four Kyiv districts following Russian attack

Fires broke out in warehouses and on the grounds of a private school as a result of the Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital on the night of 7-8 September.

Details: Warehouse fires broke out in the Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi, Podilskyi and Holosiivskyi districts due to falling debris.

Debris also fell on a residential building, where people were trapped in their apartments, and on an unfinished 26-storey building. No fires broke out at these locations.

According to medics, two people were killed and 10 Kyiv residents were injured. Five of the injured were taken to hospital, two of whom are in a serious condition.

Background: A Russian attack on Kyiv overnight and on the morning of 8 September killed two people and injured 10. Damage was recorded in seven districts of the capital, including to residential buildings, warehouses, an educational institution, a hospital and the entrance to Tarasa Shevchenka metro station.
