Zelenskyy spoke with prosecutor general after meeting with heads of anti-corruption agencies – sources

Sources have told Ukrainska Pravda that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko after speaking with the heads of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO). Kravchenko later submitted his resignation.

Details: The source said the meeting did take place on 7 September and was initiated by Zelenskyy.

However, Kravchenko was not present at that meeting. The prosecutor general spoke with the president after the heads of NABU and SAPO had left.

Quote from the source: "They discussed what had made the schemes at the Prosecutor General's Office possible and the return of competitive selection processes at the Prosecutor General's Office. They did not discuss details of the cases, of course.

Kravchenko was somewhere in the President's Office the whole time, but he did not enter the room while the heads [of the agencies] were speaking with the president."

Background:

Ukrainska Pravda previously reported that Zelenskyy had met Kravchenko and Davyd Arakhamiia, leader of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, on 7 September. This came amid an investigation by NABU and SAPO into the "protection" of scam call centres, in which Serhii Kropyva, deputy head of the International Legal Cooperation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, is one of the suspects.
Following the meeting, Kravchenko announced that he had submitted his resignation as prosecutor general.
On 8 September, Zelenskyy said that in addition to Kravchenko, he had also met with the heads of NABU and SAPO on 7 September.
