Russia plans to test new ballistic missiles with a range of up to 800 km
Russia is planning to test a new type of ballistic missile with a range of up to 800 km by the end of 2026.

Details: DIU believes that Russian forces may attempt to strike targets in Ukraine's west during tests of the new ballistic weapon.
"Russia, the aggressor state, is also increasing the intensity of missile and drone strikes on Ukraine in an effort to provoke a social and economic crisis. To this end, Moscow seeks to ramp up the production of ballistic missiles and increase the range of these weapons," DIU quoted Skibitskyi as saying.
Skibitskyi called on Ukraine's partner countries to tighten sanctions against Moscow to prevent the Russians from obtaining foreign components, particularly those used in long-range weapons.
The Russian military uses various types of ballistic missiles to attack Ukraine. Russian forces deploy 9M723 missiles from the Iskander-M system, KN-23/24 missiles supplied to Russia by North Korea, Zircon missiles and other types of weapons.
Background: Ukrainska Pravda previously reported, citing DIU, that as of August 2026, Russia was meeting its monthly missile production targets at 110-120%, while production of some types of missiles was exceeding planned levels.
