Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles and drones, strikes reported at 20 locations

Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic, cruise and air-launched missiles and 129 drones of various types on the night of 11-12 September. Odesa Oblast has been the main target of the attack.

Details: Russian forces used an unspecified number of Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, eight Kalibr cruise missiles, six Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles and 129 drones.

Half of the drones were jet-powered.

As of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 110 aerial assets: six Kalibr missiles, two Kh-59/69 missiles, one S8000 Banderol drone-launched cruise missile and 101 drones.

Hits by missiles and drones have been recorded at 20 locations and downed aerial assets (debris) have been found at four locations

The attack was ongoing at the time of the report.

Background: Russian forces launched a missile attack on the city of Odesa on the morning of 12 September. A high-rise residential building was damaged and 16 people were injured.
