Zelenskyy reports "positive news" near Lyman but notes that operation is not yet over

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked Ukrainian defence forces and reported positive developments towards the city of Lyman in Donetsk Oblast.

Background:

• On 15 September, the 3rd Army Corps reported mopping up 75 sq km and liberating a further 10 sq km as part of counteroffensive operations in the northern part of Donetsk Oblast.
• On 20 September, the 3rd Army Corps liberated the villages of Shandryholove and Derylove in Donetsk Oblast and established full control over Drobysheve as part of its Vivaldi offensive operation.
• On 26 August, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian positions in Donetsk Oblast would be reinforced by two restructured military groupings, which are to be led by Denys Prokopenko and Andrii Biletskyi.
