Ukraine strikes three Russian plants involved in missile production

Ukraine's defence forces have struck three facilities in Russia's Ulyanovsk, Tula and Voronezh oblasts.

The targets included the Yefremov Synthetic Rubber Plant in the city of Yefremov, Tula Oblast, and Voronezhsintezkauchuk near Voronezh.

Details: The General Staff said both facilities are involved in the production of solid rocket fuel, including for ballistic missiles used by the Iskander operational-tactical missile system.

Another facility struck was NPP Zavod Iskra plant in Russia's Ulyanovsk. Ukrainska Pravda reported the attack earlier citing OSINT sources. The General Staff said the plant was struck on the night of 24-25 September.

The General Staff said Zavod Iskra is part of the Almaz-Antey air and missile defence conglomerate and produces semiconductor devices and electronic components for Russia's military-industrial complex.

The General Staff added that, as part of production cooperation, the plant is involved in manufacturing Kh-59M2/M2A guided air-launched missiles and the 72V6 combat vehicle used in the Pantsir-S surface-to-air missile and gun system and its variants.

The General Staff said Voronezh is around 180 km from the Ukrainian border, Yefremov about 300 km away and Ulyanovsk around 800 km away.

Background: It was reported earlier that Ukraine's defence forces attacked the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Russia's Samara Oblast. The plant supplies Russia's military-industrial complex with synthetic rubber, which, among other things, is used to produce solid rocket fuel for short-range and ballistic missiles.
