Ukrainians' biggest concerns are corruption and Russian missile and drone attacks – poll

According to a survey, 50% of Ukrainians are currently concerned about corruption in Ukraine, while another 40% are concerned about large-scale missile and drone attacks.

Details: Other issues causing the greatest concern include the lack of professionalism and competence among the authorities (30%), low salaries and pensions (28%), the activities of military enlistment offices (24%), rising prices (23%) and the situation on the front line (21%). Other issues were mentioned less frequently.

Sociologists noted that a total of 53% of respondents selected either "large-scale missile and drone attacks" or "the situation on the front line" (or both), meaning that war as a source of concern is on a par with corruption.

In addition, a large majority of respondents – 72% – believe that the level of corruption in the country has increased since the start of the full-scale invasion. Six per cent believe it has decreased. The remainder either believe it has not changed or were unable to answer.

For reference: The KIIS survey was conducted from 12 to 21 September 2026 using telephone interviews in all regions of Ukraine under government control. A total of 1,002 respondents were interviewed. The survey covered adult Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and over who, at the time of the survey, were living in Ukrainian government-controlled territory.

Under normal circumstances, the statistical margin of error for such a sample (with a 0.95 confidence level and taking into account a design effect of 1.3) would not exceed 4.1% for figures close to 50%, 3.5% for figures close to 25%, 2.5% for figures close to 10% and 1.8% for figures close to 5%.

In wartime conditions, a certain degree of systematic bias should be considered in addition to the stated statistical margin of error.
