Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber crashes in Amur Oblast – videos

A Russian warplane has crashed in Amur Oblast, and the Russian Ministry of Defence says it was a Tu-95 strategic bomber.

Details: The Russian Defence Ministry claimed that the aircraft crashed during a training flight. It said the aircraft was not carrying any ammunition and that six of the seven crew members were killed.

OSINT communities also reported that a Russian aircraft has crashed. According to Exilenova+, the warplane belonged to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Exilenova+ said the aircraft was indeed a Tu-95. Initial reports had identified it as a Russian Tu-154.

Quote from Exilenova+: "...Based on the aircraft model and the sound of the crash, it is not a Tu-154, but, likely, a Tu-95..."

Details: The community also released several videos, one of which shows the aircraft going down.

Another video shows flames following the crash.

Unconfirmed reports say that between three and seven crew members may have been killed.

Background: On 17 July, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a Tu-95 had been destroyed at the Engels military airfield in Russia. Satellite imagery of the airbase later confirmed the destruction of the Russian strategic bomber following a strike by the Security Service of Ukraine.
