The survey results also show that 63% of Ukrainians are currently prepared to endure the war for as long as necessary. A further 5% speak of one year. A shorter period (a few months to half a year) is cited by 21% (with the remaining 11% undecided).

For reference: The KIIS survey was conducted between 16 and 25 October 2026 using telephone interviews in all government-controlled regions of Ukraine. A total of 828 respondents were interviewed.

The survey was conducted among adult citizens of Ukraine (aged 18 and older) who, at the time of the poll, resided in government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

Under normal circumstances, the formal statistical margin of error for such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account a design effect of 1.3) did not exceed 4.4% for indicators close to 50%, 3.8% for indicators close to 25%, 2.7% for indicators close to 10% and 1.9% for indicators close to 5%.

Under wartime conditions, in addition to the specified formal margin of error, a certain systematic deviation is introduced. Factors that may affect the quality of results under wartime conditions have been previously noted by KIIS.
