Quote: "The Russians are striking bridges across the Dnipro River, from Kyiv to Zaporizhzhia. Overnight, there were strikes on Kyiv's Pivnichnyi Bridge – six ballistic missiles were fired at the bridge, four of which struck it.

I spoke today with Prime Minister Koretskyi and Interior Minister Vyhivskyi – contingency transport plans are needed for Kyiv. Unfortunately, there are currently not enough transport resources in reserve. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is now handling this, hopefully in cooperation with the Kyiv City Administration."

Details: Zelenskyy noted that he had heard a report from Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Agency for Restoration.

"The Russian ballistic operation against Ukraine continues; unfortunately, due to a shortage of Patriot missile systems, there have been significant strikes on energy and logistics infrastructure," he said.

Quote: "Today, Ukraine generates more power than it consumes, but it is precisely because of Russian strikes on distribution stations and our networks that there are very significant shortages in Kyiv and other northern, eastern and central regions of Ukraine. We are increasing the number of repair crews and supplying all the necessary equipment."

Background:

  • The Pivnichnyi Bridge in Kyiv was damaged as a result of Russian strikes on the morning of 7 November, and the bridge is closed to traffic in both directions.
  • Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko later reported that the road surface, the trolleybus overhead wires and power lines on the Pivnichnyi Bridge were damaged in the Russian missile attack on the night of 6-7 November.
