Hot Water and Heating Tariffs Doubled throughout Ukraine

On June 1, 2016 an increased price on heating and hot water supply was introduced throughout Ukraine. It is caused by the establishment of a single gas supply price for individuals and municipal energy distributing corporations at ₴6,8 thousand per thousand cubic meters.

According to UNIAN, the price increase it cased by the decision of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NCSREPU). The exact price for thousand cubic meters depends on the utilities provider, namely whether its equipment is based on gas only or allows using electricity as well.

In Kyiv hot water supply is provided by Kyivenergo and Evro-Rekonstrukcija (Darnytsia Combined Heat Power Plant). Their tariffs currently are ₴35 — 45 per cubic meter. From June 1, 2016 the price of hot water from Kyivenergo will be ₴83,1 per cubic meter for households equipped with wall-mounted towel dryer and ₴76,71 for households without it. Evro-Rekonstrukcija will charge ₴71,83 and 66,37 respectively.
