Three weeks before his death, journalist Pavel Sheremet visited Moscow, where he met with the close friends of the assassinated Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatolii Matios said on 5 Kanal.

I don’t want to get into conspiracy theories, but we talked about many things during my last meeting with Pavel. He has always been an optimist, a positive person, but when we met he was describing his visit to Moscow about three weeks ago in dim colors," Matios said.

He added that Sheremet was able to meet many people from the close circle of Nemtsov. He also met with the ex-Minister of Income and Duties of the times of President Yanukovych Oleksandr Klymenko.

"He also visited the ‘Moscow City’ office center, where our quasi-exiles are, whom we will be sure to get and and prosecute one day. One of the exiles is the former Minister of Income and Duties Klymenko. However, we did not have time to discuss their conversation," the Chief Military Prosecutor said.

Pavel Sheremet died in the morning of July 20, 2016 after his car, which was owned by the Founding Editor of Ukrayinska Pravda Olena Prytula, exploded. Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko named the professional activity of Sheremet the main motive of the assassination.
