More than a thousand illegal kiosks were taken down in Kyiv in the first half of 2016, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in an interview to Kyiv TV channel.

Klitschko said that many of the 1039 dismantled kiosks were installed on so-called red lines and prevented the free movement of people. He added that of the almost 11,000 kiosks currently installed in Kyiv, more than half are illegal. Many of them have illegal connection to the power network or don’t pay taxes, the Mayor claims.
