ATO Staff: Militants Shelled Vuhlehirsk Thermal Power Plant

On August 17, militants of the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ (DNR) shelled Vuhlehirsk thermal power plant from 152mm artillery, ATO Staff press center informs on Facebook.

"Ukrainian military observers registered eight 152 mm caliber artillery shots. Three shells fell in the vicinity of the thermal power plant. Massive explosions damaged the drinking water reservoir and laboratory for control of purification and quality of water of the power plant," the statement says.

Ukrainian service personnel from the Joint Center on Control and Coordination in the presence of the OSCE mission documented the locations where 152 mm munitions burst and the aftermath of destruction of the infrastructural objects.
