Ukraine's Energoatom: The wind from ZNPP is now blowing towards Rostov and Krasnodar

The wind from the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, where a fire broke out due to the Russian aggressors’ shelling, is now blowing towards the south-eastern part of Ukraine and Russia.

Background:

There has been a fire at the Zaporizhzhya NPP due to Russian shelling. The premises housing the educational building and the laboratory building were on fire.

Nuclear safety at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant was threatened, the reactors were in danger due to shelling by the Russian military and subsequent fire.

Firefighters were initially  denied access to put out the fire caused by the fighting, but were later given access.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the world community and stated  that no-one had ever shelled nuclear power plants, and that the Russians were threatening to blow up the station, which puts the entire world in danger of a global catastrophe.

Energodar has 6 energy units. In 1986, only one unit exploded at Chernobyl NPP. In total, Ukraine has 15 nuclear energy units.

The fire in the training building of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar has been extinguished.
