Estonian universities have stopped cooperation with Russia and are ready to help Ukrainian students – Shkarlet

Estonian universities have suspended cooperation with Russian and Belarusian institutions of higher education and research.

They are ready to provide support to Ukrainian students and educators.

This was announced by Serhiy Shkarlet, the  Minister of Education and Science [of Ukraine] on the Telegram channel.

"Representatives of the country's educational institutions consider the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine unacceptable and condemn the military attack on a free, independent, democratic and sovereign state," he wrote.

Currently, the University of Tartu is providing psychological support to Ukrainian teachers and students.

It also set up a special scholarship fund to raise money to support students’ educational needs.

Tallinn University students have formed a group of volunteers to collect charitable contributions for humanitarian aid to Ukrainian students.

In addition, the university is providing opportunities for study in various programmes.
