In their attack on Ukraine, Russian troops have lost about a quarter of all military equipment concentrated on the border before the war, but one should not expect that the Russian military will begin to experience a lack of weapons.

Evropeyska Pravda cites reporting from Estonian err.ee, which quoted the head of the Intelligence Centre of the Estonian Defence Forces, Margo Grossberg.

"There are a lot of technicians in the Russian Federation. Although they have thrown away a quarter of the equipment concentrated there, mostly through fuel, they still have machinery," Grossberg said at a news conference at the Estonian Ministry of Defence on Monday.

He explained that, in total, a third of the entire Russian army's units were transferred to the country's border with Ukraine. This means that two-thirds remain at their bases with military equipment.

According to Grossberg, over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have failed to make significant progress in Ukraine.

According to the head of military intelligence, Russian units are continuing to attempt to surround Kyiv.

The huge Russian military column previously reported near Kyiv continues to stand in the same place as last week. The front of the column is about 30 km from the capital's city centre.

Previously, European Council President Charles Michel said that EU military aid to Ukraine would not include funding for the supply of fighter aircraft.
