According to Zhyvytskyy: "Russian troops have been actively withdrawing from our region since yesterday. Last week we saw a large concentration of Russian troops in the area between Bilopillya to Konotop, around Konotop. This concerns the municipalities of  Bilopillya, Buryn, Putyvl, Nova Sloboda and Popiv. New convoys arrived, they dug in, they terrorised the region. They terrorised communities, attacked civilians, shelled indiscriminately in the forests and at residential buildings using tanks, grenade launchers, submachine guns, and machine guns.

However, our Armed Forces, together with the Territorial Defence Forces, started to chase the Russian vermin, and chased them across the entire Chernihiv region. [...] We saw a lot of military equipment moving towards Russia, which was overtaken by our artillery.

They were dragging tanks and armoured vehicles, and this very concentration of troops happened because Russians were covering up their remnants, expelled by our troops."
