Quote: "According to preliminary estimates, about 45% of Kherson’s inhabitants have left since March, and one in five has left from the region. This is a catastrophic number."

Details: Living in unbearable conditions created by Ruscists is very difficult and dangerous, says Lahuta. The occupiers were looting, killing and raping, so the civilians could not stand it. They were very afraid and forced to leave their homes.

He said that the occupiers had not allowed them to organise official "green corridors", so people, risking their lives, would leave on their own, gathering in columns.

At first, they travelled through Oleksandrivka and Snihurivka. The occupiers closed these roads. Later, people drove through Davydiv Brid to Kryvyi Rih, but this road has been closed for more than a week. In the villages, people even went on foot, by bicycles, and swam across the river, said the head of the Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the majority of residents of the Kherson Region have evacuated to Mykolaiv and Dnepropetrovsk Regions.
