The General Staff also reports that the resistance movement, together with the artillery units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces have disrupted the supply logistics of the Russian forces on the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson Oblast.

Russian Armed Forces ramped up filtration measures at the Sokolohirne railway station in Kherson region in order to prevent further information leaks about the movement of the occupying forces.

Russian occupation regime on the temporarily occupied territories of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts urges all local residents who had evacuated from those territories to return to their homes by 1 October in a bid to improve turnout at the sham referendums Russia plans to hold in those occupied territories. The Russians are threatening to "nationalise" the homes of those who fail to do so.

Russian forces began a forced mobilisation campaign on the occupied territory of the Chuhuiv district, in Kharkiv Oblast. The Russians detain men of conscription age and send them to a so-called "recruitment centre" in Vovchansk.

Ukrainian Defence Forces are maintaining their current positions and preventing the Russian forces from advancing further into the territory of Ukraine. They have successfully repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of Kostiantynivka, Dovhenke, Dibrivne, Hryhorivka, Soledar, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Marinka and Kamianka.

Rocket and artillery units of the Ukrainian ground forces keep carrying counter-battery firing missions in order to disrupt Russian command systems and supply logistics, inflict losses on Russian troops and destroy Russian military equipment.

Over the course of 8 September, Ukrainian aircraft conducted over 12 airstrikes, hitting two Russian platoon strong points, six areas where Russian military personnel and equipment were concentrated, and two anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian air defence units brought down two Russian UAVs. Russia’s total losses over the course of 8 September have yet to be confirmed.
