Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia: one person killed

One person has been killed and five others injured, including a child, in a Russian night attack on residential neighbourhoods of the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Quote from Kurtiev: "Tonight Russian terrorists have once again taken the life of a civilian. As of 06:00, one person is known to have been killed. My condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."

Details: Kurtiev reported that five more people were injured, including a child who sustained cuts from broken glass.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

Kurtiev also reported that the Russians damaged a high-voltage pylon, causing temporary service interruptions to trolleybus routes nos. 3, 8, 11 and 17.

Previously: Russians have once again struck Zaporizhzhia overnight on 9-10 October. 

Background: 

• On the night of 8-9 October, Russia launched an attack on Zaporizhzhia, firing a dozen missiles.
• The Russian occupiers launched 12 missiles on the city of Zaporizhzhia on the night of 8-9 October, damaging a house. Zaporizhzhia City Council reported 17 dead.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is confident that the Russians responsible for the terrorist attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia on 9 October, which claimed the lives of 12 civilians, will be held responsible for their crime.
• Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russian occupiers had fired 16 rockets at Zaporizhzhia on 9 October, killing at least 12 people.
