Moldovan President condemns Russian attack on historical centre of Odesa

Moldovan President Maia Sandu and the Moldovan Foreign Minister have condemned the latest Russian missile strike, which inflicted damage on the historical centre of Odesa.

Details: Sandu wrote that it pains her to see footage of the destruction from Odesa, which is loved by many residents of Moldova.

Quote: "It's heart-wrenching to follow the scenes of destruction in Odesa, a city dear to many Moldovans.

We condemn Russia's continued air assaults on peaceful cities, residential districts, and the UNESCO preserved historic centre.

Our hearts and minds are with Ukraine."

Details: Other Moldovan diplomats also reacted.

"This is a heinous war crime committed by Russia, for which there must be responsibility," said Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu.
