Zelenskyy: To withstand this year means to withstand this war

In his evening address on 5 January, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the priority of the state is to give everything necessary to protect Ukraine and withstand this year.

Quote: "Our state's top priority remains unchanged – to ensure everything necessary for Ukraine's defence and our active operations. Ammunition, drones, equipment, personnel. Enduring this year means enduring this entire war. It's a crucial and decisive time. Grateful to everyone who realises this, who helps the state become stronger and who gives our soldiers the ability to defeat the enemy."

Details: The President reported that there is currently fierce fighting in the southern sector of the front, as well as on the Marinka, Bakhmut, Lyman, and Avdiivka fronts. Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian authorities are working with all partners to ensure that this month Ukraine received an "adequate volume of security packages."

Quote: "We already have another defensive step from Germany for Ukraine, including missiles for air defence, 155mm artillery, and other essential items. Thank you! It's a very timely package. We are expecting similar steps from our other partners, including the United States, to ensure that Russian terror cannot prevail this winter, just as it couldn't last year."
