Ukrainian Ushenina ranks second in European Blitz Chess Championship – photo

Monte Carlo has hosted the European Women's Blitz Chess Championship, which was attended by 14 representatives from Ukraine.

Details: Anna Ushenina achieved the best result among the Ukrainians, taking second place in the overall ranking. She scored 10 points.

The winner of the tournament was Poland's Aleksandra Malczewska, who scored 10.5 points.

In addition to Ushenina, Zhukova, Hrebenshchykova and Hnatyshyn also showed good results with eight points each.

Background: 

• The European Rapid Championship will take place on 11-12 January. The venue is Monte Carlo.
• Earlier, the World Rapid Championships ended, where the Muzychuk sisters finished in the top twenty.
