Ukrainian tennis player Svitolina achieves 40th win over rivals from world top 10

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has won her 40th career victory over representatives of the top ten Women's Tennis Association rankings. The milestone victory was a win over Jasmine Paolini in the third round of the Australian Open.

Details: Firstly the native of Odesa defeated a top-10 ranked tennis player on 11 August 2014, when Svitolina, ranked 39th in the world, secured a victory against Petra Kvitová, who was then ranked 4th.

The Ukrainian has suffered 52 defeats against tennis players from the top 10.

At the round of 16 stage, Svitolina will face the unflagged representative of Russia, Veronika Kudermetova, who is currently ranked 75th in the world rankings. The Ukrainian started the tournament ranked 27th. The match is scheduled for 20 January.

Svitolina and Kudermetova have met twice before, with the Russian winning both matches.
