Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has described the latest Russian attack on Ukrainian cities as the Kremlin's response to US peace initiatives.

Details: Sybiha noted that a number of Ukrainian cities had been attacked by Russian ballistic missiles, drones and aerial bombs on the night of 5-6 April.

"Russia's only response to US proposals for a full ceasefire so far has been to launch more missiles, drones and bombs against Ukraine and its people. Time for more pressure on Moscow," he stressed.
Background:
- On Sunday morning, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, causing fires and injuring three people.
- At 04:57, an air-raid warning was issued throughout most of Ukraine due to the activity of Russian strategic aircraft.
- On the evening of 4 April, Russian forces struck a residential area in the city of Kryvyi Rih with a ballistic missile, killing at least 18 people, including 9 children.

- For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was "unpleasantly" surprised by the US Embassy's reaction to the Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih.
