Quote: "Today, on the Day of Defenders, on the Feast of the Intercession of the Theotokos, we in Ukraine honour everyone who has contributed to the defence of our state, who has made every effort so that our country can endure. And on this day, it is only right that we recognise our hromadas too, those cities that often bear the greatest burden in defence and resilience. I have signed a decree. Cities that have saved thousands of lives of our people. Cities that defend our entire state – in the most literal sense." [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
