Zelenskyy: Ukraine fully ready to open first cluster in EU membership talks

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine has completed the internal screening of its legislation for compliance with EU standards and is ready to open the first negotiating cluster for EU accession.

Details: The president said that Ukraine had completed the screening faster than any previous candidate country.

Quote: "Ukraine has finished its internal screening process for EU legislation – and we did it faster than anyone else before us. We did it well. We are fully ready to open Cluster 1 in the EU membership talks – the Fundamentals cluster. We need real progress on this."

Details: Zelenskyy stressed that Europe must keep its promises just as candidate countries fulfil their commitments. He also mentioned Moldova and the Western Balkan states, saying they too deserve European integration.

Quote: "I'm not only talking about Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting the enemy. Moldova has once again clearly proven its European choice. How many more such tests do we all need? Of course, we also support the Western Balkan states – they too deserve to be part of our common European home."
