It has emerged that Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF) coordinated with a Russian insurgent group, Chornaya Iskra (Black Spark), to carry out its strike on the Kirishi Refinery in Russia's Leningrad Oblast on the night of 3-4 October.

Details: The Ukrainian military has confirmed that they hit both the LAB-LABS unit, which produces linear alkylbenzenes and linear alkylaromatic sulphonates, and the ELOU-AVT-6 unit, which is used for water and salt removal and primary oil processing.

This is the third time the refinery has caught fire in 2025.
