Russia's largest agricultural machinery producer suffers major collapse

Russia's largest producer of agricultural machinery, Rostselmash, will cut production by 30% in 2025 compared with the same period last year.

Details: It is noted that a total of 2,700 harvesters and 800 tractors will be produced over the year.
Due to the sharp reduction in output, the company has been operating only three days a week since August.
According to the company's owner, Konstantin Babkin, the high key rate of Russia's Central Bank and low incomes of farmers do not allow for an increase in production volumes, while government support programmes do not fully offset the limited demand.
Background: The tax increases planned by the Russian government for 2026, intended to cover the costs of the war against Ukraine, will accelerate inflation.
