Details: It was noted that the launch of new joint production projects by Ukrainian defence companies in Denmark is provided for in a Memorandum of Understanding.
Shmyhal signed this memorandum on 6 October together with his Danish counterpart Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, along with Morten Bødskov, Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, and Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
The memorandum provides for the establishment of production facilities by Ukrainian defence companies in Denmark, the creation of joint capacities, technology exchange and the raising of EU funding for joint projects.
Background:
- In September, reports stated that a Ukrainian arms manufacturer would begin producing solid rocket fuel in Denmark.
- At the end of August, it was reported that Denmark would, within weeks, invite the first Ukrainian defence industry company to launch production on its territory, with more expected to follow by the end of 2025.
