Russia strikes coal enrichment plant in today's second attack on Ukrainian energy company

Russian forces carried out two attacks against DTEK on 8 October, hitting a plant in Donetsk Oblast where coal for thermal power stations is enriched.

Details: The company reported that staff on duty were in shelters during the strikes and no one was injured.

This was the third large-scale attack on this facility in the past month and a half.

"The equipment is inoperable. The plant's operations have been suspended," the company said.

Background: Earlier, Russian forces attacked a DTEK thermal power plant, injuring two power engineers and causing serious damage to the facility's equipment.
