Details: The group reported that the first cat was found almost at the epicentre of the explosion. Animal rescuers had to pull it out through flames and dense smoke while wearing a compressed-air breathing apparatus. The animal suffered burns, singed fur and other injuries.

The second cat was trapped under a bathtub after the blast. It was successfully rescued but had inhaled smoke and sustained minor scratches.

Both animals were taken to hospital and are under veterinary care. Their owners have not yet come forward, rescuers said.

The third cat was found in a flat that had suffered the least damage. As it was uninjured and its owners were quickly located, it did not require hospitalisation.

"Even amid fire and ruins, there is room for compassion. Kyiv will endure because we leave no one behind," the Kyiv Animal Rescue Group stressed.
