President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine has several options to finance the potential transfer of Tomahawk cruise missiles if the United States agrees to supply them.

Details: Zelenskyy said that Ukraine currently has "decent options" to fund the potential supply of US-made Tomahawk cruise missiles, namely a reparation loan based on frozen Russian assets, NATO's PURL (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) initiative for purchasing American weapons for Ukraine, and the so-called "mega deal".

Quote from Zelenskyy: "As for the number [of Tomahawk missiles – ed.] and the possibilities, it is too early to talk. Although, to be frank, I have already shared our vision with President Trump. But some things are not meant for a phone conversation, so we will meet in person."

Details: Regarding frozen assets, Zelenskyy stressed that the issue "still needs to be resolved".

"Most leaders have a positive view of this mechanism, but it first requires a political decision. As you know, in politics, it often starts with that – first comes the political decision, and then all other mechanisms follow. But we must move faster in this case," he added.

Kallas, for her part, emphasised that Ukraine knows best what it needs.

She said that whether it is Patriot or Tomahawk, it is up to Ukraine, not others, to decide what it truly needs. Kallas added that partners are trying to assist Ukraine in meeting these needs and are therefore discussing various initiatives.
