Russia attacks Kherson, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts over past day, injuring 72 people

Russian forces attacked Kherson, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts on 13 October, injuring a total of 72 people.

Details: Over the past 24 hours, the Russians bombarded more than 30 settlements in Kherson Oblast, including Kherson, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Kizomys, Shyroka Balka and others.

The Russians targeted residential areas as well as critical and social infrastructure. Eleven apartment blocks and 24 houses were damaged, along with an educational institution, a botanical garden, an administrative building, a shop and several vehicles.

Eight people were injured in the attacks.

In the evening, Russian forces dropped aerial bombs on the Pokrovske hromada in the Synelnykove district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Two men, aged 26 and 32, were injured. Infrastructure facilities were damaged. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

The Russians also attacked the Nikopol district, including the Pokrovske hromada, with FPV drones. A house was damaged, but no casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, the city of Kharkiv and eight settlements in Kharkiv Oblast came under heavy fire. As a result of the Russian attacks, 62 people were injured.

Quote from Syniehubov: "As a result of the attack, 62 people were injured. In the city of Kharkiv, two men aged 79 and 68 and women aged 75, 73, 44, 69 and 74 sustained injuries. Fifty hospital patients experienced acute stress reactions. In the town of Kupiansk, three women aged 78, 58 and 71, as well as two men aged 57 and 72, were injured."

Details: Munitions hit a hospital, an educational institution, industrial sites, residential buildings and power transmission lines; 24 cars were damaged.

In the Kupiansk and Kharkiv districts, several houses, farm buildings and cars were also damaged. Power has already been restored by engineers after the attacks.

In the village of Velykyi Burluk in the Kupiansk district, two houses and two outbuildings caught fire after hits from attack drones, covering an area of 500 sq m. No casualties were reported.

Background:

  • On 13 October, two people were killed when a Russian drone struck a car in the village of Preobrazhenka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
  • That evening, Russian forces also attacked Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, causing a fire in the Saltivskyi district and damaging a medical facility.
