Ukrainian forces destroy Russian armoured convoy on Dobropillia front

Ukrainian National Guard units, the Air Assault Forces, the Armed Forces' Artillery, and the Unmanned Systems Forces have repelled a Russian armoured assault on Shakhove and Volodymyrivka on the Dobropillia front, destroying nine and damaging four Russian armoured vehicles.

Details: Between 05:30 and 08:00, Russian troops launched an attack involving 22 armoured vehicles. The largest column – 11 vehicles, including tanks and armoured combat vehicles – moved out from the area of Malynivka at around 07:50.

The Russians began preparing for the assault in advance. To complicate the mining of their routes, they deployed observation posts to detect and destroy Ukrainian drones.

Ukrainian troops reported that the Russian command also tried to change its offensive tactics. Previously, Russian armoured columns with infantry advanced from deep within their own lines, but this time, on 15 October, they attempted to move vehicles closer to Shakhove and conceal them in a forest belt. The manoeuvre failed: two vehicles were detected by reconnaissance and destroyed by artillery and FPV drones of the Unmanned Systems Forces before they could hide in the woods.
