Details: In Chernihiv Oblast, a traction substation of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) was hit.
"Railway energy workers immediately began repair work during the night, but the Russians directed drones at the site of the restoration. Thanks to the monitoring system, workers were promptly moved to safety – there were no casualties," Kuleba said.
According to Kuleba, train movement has been ensured with the use of reserve diesel locomotives.
Russian forces also attacked port infrastructure, damaging several facilities and buildings. Fires were quickly contained.
"Port employees were in shelters, so fortunately there were no casualties. Currently, several ports are not receiving trains – they have been redistributed across the network and will resume operations once ready," the minister added.
Background:
- Russian troops have once again attacked energy infrastructure in Chernihiv Oblast, this time in the Nizhyn district.
