Russian paratroopers killed in explosion near military checkpoint in Russia's Stavropol

At least three servicemen from Russia's 247th Caucasian Cossack Airborne Regiment were killed on 22 October in a successful operation carried out by Defence Intelligence of Ukraine with the support of the Caucasus Liberation Movement.

Details: The incident occurred near a checkpoint run by military unit No. 54801 in the very centre of the Russian city of Stavropol (533 Serova Street).

A recording of an intercepted conversation between Russian security forces indicates that the soldiers were blown up at the checkpoint.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the soldiers and officers of this unit have taken an active part in combat operations in Ukraine since 2014 and were notorious for having committed numerous war crimes during Russia's full-scale invasion.
