Russians enter outskirts of Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast

Russian forces have broken through to the outskirts of the city of Myrnohrad on the Pokrovsk front in Donetsk Oblast, where heavy street fighting is ongoing.

Quote: "At present, unfortunately, the enemy has entered the outskirts of Myrnohrad and is using not only artillery and unmanned systems but also infantry and technical assets. Our defence forces are trying to hold their positions and are constructing fortifications, but the situation is quite difficult."
Details: Shapoval said that intense street fighting makes it difficult to use certain types of weapons.

Background:
- On 26 October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Russians had concentrated their main strike group against Pokrovsk, which represents a significant number of forces.
- Ukrainska Pravda has learnt that at least 250 Russian troops are in Pokrovsk – they are engaging in firefights and killing Ukrainian soldiers, particularly drone operators, at their positions. Logistics into the city are fully controlled by Russian drones, forcing Ukrainian soldiers to walk 10-15 km to reach their positions. Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are at risk of being encircled.
- On 27 October, Zelenskyy reported that fighting is ongoing in the city of Pokrovsk.
