Russian nighttime attack on Ukraine: over 600 missiles and drones intercepted, hits recorded at 20 locations

Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine with 653 loitering munitions of various types and 52 missiles, including 9 ballistic ones, on the night of 29-30 October. Ukrainian defence forces have destroyed or jammed 623 aerial assets.

Details: The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russians had deployed loitering munitions and air-to-surface, surface-to-surface and maritime surface-to-surface missiles to conduct a combined attack on Ukraine's critical infrastructure.

Russian forces launched Shaheds, Gerberas and drones of other types from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea.

The Russians also deployed the following aerial assets:

• 4 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia);
• 5 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (from Rostov Oblast, Russia);
• 8 Kalibr cruise missiles;
• 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles (from Kursk and Voronezh Oblasts, Russia);
• 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles (from Saratov Oblast, Russia);
• 2 Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles (from the Black Sea area);
• 1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile (from the Black Sea area).

Ukraine's defence forces repelled the aerial assault using fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets and mobile fire teams.

Ukrainian forces successfully destroyed:

• ​​592 loitering munitions;
• 7 Kalibr cruise missiles;
• 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
• 21 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
• 2 Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles.

As of now, direct hits from 16 missiles and 63 drones have been recorded at 20 locations, while debris from downed devices fell in 19 locations across various Ukrainian oblasts.

Additionally, three Russian missiles disappeared from radar, and information about their impact sites and aftermath is being gathered.

Background: Earlier on 30 October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia deployed over 650 drones and more than 50 missiles of various types in its latest attack on Ukraine.
