Over 500 Russian strikes on Sumy since beginning of 2025 kill 72 people

Russia has conducted 543 attacks using various types of weapons on the city of Sumy and the Sumy hromada since the beginning of 2025, killing 72 people and injuring 434. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Details: Sumy City Military Administration reported that 543 attacks with different types of weapons is four times more than in the whole of 2024.

Russian forces most frequently used drones – 455 times.

In addition, there were:

38 airstrikes with guided bombs
28 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems
16 missile strikes
6 artillery attacks.

Details: Sumy City Military Administration added that 72 residents of Sumy were killed and 434 injured.

Furthermore, 303 non-residential buildings were damaged and 27 were completely destroyed.

Regarding residential areas, the administration provided the following figures:

494 houses were damaged
25 houses were completely destroyed
245 high-rise buildings were damaged.
