Details: The operation took place on the night of 27-28 September, but details have only now been made public, SOF explained to Ukrainska Pravda.

The Special Operations Forces, acting jointly with the Russian insurgent group Chornaya Iskra (Black Spark), carried out special measures that have put two critical elements of Russia's air defence system out of action.

A Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system and a Nebo-U early warning radar station in Rostov Oblast were reduced to scrap.

Each of these systems is worth several hundred million dollars.

The Buk-M3 is capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 80 km, while the Nebo-U can detect fighter jets at distances of up to 400 km.

Quote: "Both systems posed a major threat to the operation of Ukraine's combat aircraft in the frontline zone and hindered Ukrainian deep strike missions, but these particular systems won't be doing so any longer."
