Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has stated that Türkiye is ready to host a round of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, as well as a potential summit of leaders in Istanbul.

Details: Fidan announced that Türkiye had officially proposed to host a new round of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, which could possibly include a summit of leaders in Istanbul, the agency writes.

The minister emphasised Türkiye's unique position as a country that maintains constructive relations with both sides, which previously enabled the launch of the Istanbul peace process.

"We successfully facilitated their return to the negotiating table through the Istanbul process," Fidan said, referring to three previous rounds of talks and a prisoner exchange held in Türkiye.

He reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy will remain the cornerstones of Turkish foreign policy.
