Details: Reporting on the situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad as of 13:00 on 3 November, the Corps said that an operation to clear Pokrovsk of Russian troops is ongoing.
Quote: "Over the past few days, the defence forces have created the conditions necessary to replenish our sector of responsibility with additional personnel and equipment.
An active mop-up operation of the northern part of Pokrovsk from the occupiers continues. Thanks to coordinated actions, the defence forces have stopped the expansion of the Russian presence in this part of the city and prevented the enemy from cutting the road connecting Pokrovsk and Rodynske."
Details: It is reported that on 2 November, Ukrainian troops killed 19 Russian soldiers in the city.
More assault units and special forces continue to be deployed to counter the Russians.
Quote: "The situation in Myrnohrad is tense but not critical.
Enemy troops have been detected on the approaches to the south-eastern outskirts of Myrnohrad. The total number of enemy personnel is small – about 10. Work is underway to kill them.
The city's defences have already been reinforced with additional forces.
We have clear plans to counter the enemy and maintain close coordination to stabilise the situation."
Previously:
- Reuters, citing its sources, reported that at the beginning of this week, units of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine were deployed to Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, due to intensified fighting, with the aim of stabilising the situation.
- On 1 November, a source from Ukraine's military intelligence confirmed to Ukrainska Pravda that stabilisation measures involving Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, under the leadership of its head Kyrylo Budanov, were ongoing in Pokrovsk.
Background:
- Heavy fighting has been taking place around Pokrovsk for a year and, in recent months, inside the city itself. Russian forces first entered Pokrovsk in July 2025, but the defence forces managed to drive them out within a few weeks. The Russians re-entered the city almost immediately after the mop-up operation, around August.
- As Ukrainska Pravda previously reported, as of late October Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad were encircled by Russian drones – and are moving closer each day to being encircled by infantry.
